Current times with limited or no facilities personnel immediately available exemplify the need to have effective preplans to provide guidance to response personnel to address incidents to keep them from getting worse. It is also an excellent time to download building intelligence from personnel that know it into a tool that is shareable by all agencies and personnel that may respond to a facility emergency.
Industrial sites often anticipate fire as a potential hazard and feature engineered built-in systems, such as detection/suppression systems and on-site water supplies, to protect against it. Incidents at many commercial and industrial facilities can pose many challenges and hazards, which include not only fire, but also explosions and over-pressures, electrocution, pressurized fires and exposure to noise and chemicals.
